Reds in de Vrij battle

19:45: Manchester United have joined Chelsea and Liverpool in the battle to sign Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij, reports claim.

The Dutch international has been linked with a number of European heavyweights after impressing in Serie A.

Liverpool were credited with interest last year but the capture of Virgil van Dijk for a club-record £75million in January saw de Vrij remain with Lazio.

However, with his contract due to expire in June, Italian publication Il Messaggero claim the Premier League trio will look to secure the 26-year-old’s services.

The report says de Vrij could agree an extension with Lazio in the coming weeks, but they add that the contract will contain a £20m release clause.

Cristiano knows...

19:00: Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly learned Keylor Navas is keen to move to the Premier League as Liverpool pursue him.

Navas’ future is set to be the subject of transfer rumours as the campaign draws to a close and the summer window approaches.

And, according to Spanish publication Diario Gol, Navas has informed his team-mate: “I'm going to the Premier [League].”

However, Navas is apparently standing firm to ensure the potential move is to his liking.

The 31-year-old is to have told Real president Florentino Perez that he’s willing to stick around, even if he’s not No 1.

And that approach has been taken to ensure Perez reduces his price tag  amid interest from Jurgen Klopp in taking him to Liverpool.

Demirbay to Liverpool or Arsenal

18:00: Liverpool and Arsenal have reportedly agreed to meet Hoffenheim’s asking price over a deal for Kerem Demirbay.

Sportsbild claim the midfielder, 24, has a £28million valuation.

And the report states that both Liverpool and Arsenal are eyeing the Germany international.

Demirbay has also represented Turkey at youth level but made his Germany debut last year.

He joined Hoffenheim from Hamburg in 2016.

Why Barcelona or Real Madrid will move for Salah - transfer expert

17:30: Liverpool will face a battle to keep Mohamed Salah out of Barcelona or Real Madrid’s clutches if he continues his staggering form, according to European football expert Andy Brassell.

Salah became the fastest player to score 20 Premier League goals for Liverpool as they drew with Tottenham on Sunday.

And that took him to 27 in all competitions since moving to Anfield from Roma in a then club-record deal last summer.

Brassell has now predicted another transfer could be in the offing, with Barcelona and Real touted as potential destinations for the Egyptian.

"The way he’s played this season… I mean, even people who’ve seen him play regularly in Italy for Fiorentina and Roma, both of whom he was brilliant for," he said while appearing as a guest on BBC Radio 5 Live.

"And Roma, when he went, it just left this huge hole. He was the most important player in the team. He affected the whole way they played and he’s affected the whole way that Liverpool have played as well.

"I think really the question is, having just sold Philippe Coutinho, how long can they actually hold Salah for?

"If he plays like this for the next year, I think Liverpool are struggling.

"Liverpool are genuinely struggling to hold him because one of the best two clubs in the world, and we know who we’re talking about, are gonna want to buy him."
