Britain is gradually tuning into one of the fastest growing overseas destinations with the number of Chinese tourists to Britain doubling in 2017.
Chinese online travel agency Ctrip’s report stated that , more than 60,000 people booked a trip to Britain through their platform in 2017.
The depreciation of British pound led to a surge in number, and the launching of more direct flights between Chinese and British cities.
Around 42 percent of the tourists chose to travel with tour groups and the rest preferred a personalized travel plan.
10,000 yuan (1,589 U.S. dollars) was per capita consumption and most visitors spent eight to 10 days on their trip.
Trips lasting over 15 days were popular too most Chinese tourists paid visits to castles, churches and opera houses.
