AJMER: To qualify for 35,000 posts of third grade teachers, more than 10 lakh candidates will appear in the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (
REET), 2018, on February 11. The Rajasthan Board of
Secondary Education (RBSE) has made 2,600 examination centres in the state.
Vasundhara Raje government had started the REET examination for candidates seeking government teacher posts. The eligibility examination helps avoid interview for primary and upper primary teachers.
The first
REET exam was conducted in 2016 in which about 9 lakh candidates appeared. First 15,000 eligible candidates were called for jobs in different districts.
"The exam will be held in two sessions, the first session is to check eligibility of primary teachers from classes I to V and the second session will be for teachers of classes VI to VIII," said an official.
Looking to the large
number of candidates, the board has directed to install
mobile jammers in every
exam centre and directed police in different districts for security at the centres.
Moreover, strict rules have been formed for the examination and flying squads have been constituted. The control room will remain active at board headquarters.
In 2016, cut-off marks for primary teachers went to 48.8%.
