Former Minister Prafulla Chandra Ghadai on Sundayvisited Kaliapani under Sukinda block in Jajpur district and distributed free blankets and other clothes to local residents. Women were given away sarees and household materials.

Ghadai, who has been removed from the ruling party, reiterated what he has been saying ever since, “I am still in the BJD and doing party work. The Naveen Patnaik Government is committed for the betterment of women fraternity.” Ghadai also highlighted various steps undertaken by the BJD Government for the welfare of tribals. “Sukinda is where my heart is. I will continue to do whatever possible on my part for the people of this area till by last breath,” he said emotionally.

"The Kalinganagar industrial complex or the second steel city of the State was the dream and vision of former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik 25 years ago. He had initiated the process of the State’s industrialisation in this region in the 1990s and invited industry leaders, experts to make Sukinda a steel hub. Now, Kalinganagar has created a special identity of its own not only in India but also abroad,” Ghadai said, recalling that Biju Patnaik had laid the industrialisation foundation in Sukinda and Danagadi blocks in 1992.

His dream has now come true with ten small, large and medium industries operating in Kalinganagar, he added.
