Continental cooperates with Nvidia self-driving vehicles tech

(MENAFN) German automotive supplier Continental has announced on Monday a joint venture with US graphics processor and computer chip producer Nvidia, to develop technology for self-driving vehicles.

The two companies will work together to come up with artificial intelligence (AI) computer systems for car functions varying from limited automated tasks to their fully-autonomous operations.

Continental said in a statement: "The partnership will enable the production of AI computer systems that scale from automated Level 2 features through full Level 5 self-driving capabilities, where the vehicle has no steering wheel or pedals."

Continental CEO said: "The vehicle of the future will be a sensing, planning and acting computer on wheels. The complexity of autonomous driving requires nothing less than the full computational horsepower of an AI supercomputer."
