PS4 Is a Best-Seller but Here Are 4 Reasons It's Far From Perfect
Amazon India has added Unified Payment Interface (UPI) as a payment method on its mobile app and the mobile website. The UPI payment method is available for transactions valuing Rs. 10,000 or less, and is not available for purchases made through the Amazon desktop site. Notably, Amazon India competitors, including Flipkart and Paytm, are already offering UPI as a payment method on their e-commerce sites.
Customers need to choose UPI as a payment method after adding their orders to the cart on the Amazon India mobile app or website. Once selected, the UPI ID needs to be verified from the UPI ID-linked mobile app. Upon its verification, the Amazon app will use UPI ID to proceed the payment directly from the connected bank account of customers. The new method sits alongside the other conventional payment modes, namely credit and debit cards, net banking, EMI, and cash on delivery. However, customers who have already opted for Amazon Pay balance need to uncheck the option to pay via UPI.
Amazon customers can only use the UPI payment option on the app and mobile website
In case of any refunds, Amazon will credit the amount to the bank account linked with the UPI ID. The refunds will reach in two to four business days, as available in case of opting other payment methods.
Last month, Amazon India added a cash load service to its Amazon Pay payment and wallet offering. That move was aimed to let Amazon Pay users add balance to their accounts right from their doorstep. Ultimately, it would persuade Amazon customers in the country to opt for its proprietary wallet for purchasing through the online marketplace - somewhere countering the other available payment options, including the latest UPI method.
