Manchester United star Alexis Sanchez had Jose Mourinho talks to worry Anthony Martial
MANCHESTER UNITED star Alexis Sanchez reportedly had talks with Jose Mourinho about playing on the left wing - in news sure to worry Anthony Martial.
Sanchez has made a positive start to his Manchester United career following his move from Arsenal last month.
The 29-year-old impressed on his debut against Yeovil Town in the FA Cup, producing a Man of the Match display, and got off the mark at the weekend by finding the net against Huddersfield.
The player’s position, however, remains a code Mourinho must crack with Martial currently blossoming in Sanchez’s preferred left-wing role.
And the Manchester Evening News say the Chile international had talks with Mourinho about his best position before signing for the club.
Sanchez is capable of operating anywhere in Manchester United’s attack.
He started on the right against Yeovil before moving onto the left and did the same during the Red Devils’ 2-0 defeat to Tottenham last week.

However, against Huddersfield, he was given the nod in his natural position.
Martial was rested for the game with the France international producing a poor showing against Tottenham.
And the MEN say Sanchez told Mourinho about his hopes of playing on the left.
It is said the forward idolises Cristiano Ronaldo, who played there during his time at Old Trafford.
Should Mourinho heed his words, then Martial may battle to make the 54-year-old’s side.
Meanwhile, former United star Wayne Rooney has tipped Sanchez to be a huge hit during his United spell.

"For me he is the perfect player for Manchester United,” Rooney said while working as a Sky Sports pundit.
“He’s got aggression, he’s got passion, desire. You can see he’s a winner.
“So I think that’s sort of what Manchester United have lacked, players around Lukaku who are going to push Lukaku on as well and try and help him, give him a bit more freedom, score more goals.
“Sanchez will do that and they are the players they want, almost like (Carlos) Tevez when he joined Manchester United.
“Them players lift the other players and gets an extra five, 10 per cent out of the players around him.
“I think Alexis Sanchez will do that.”
