Cloudy sky witnessed throughout the day in Doon

While light rain/snow was reported in higher reaches of the State, cloudy sky was witnessed throughout the day in the provisional State capital on Monday. Moreover, very light to light rain/snow is likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts especially in higher reaches while dry weather is likely to prevail over the rest of Uttarakhand on Tuesday. The    Uttarakhand Meteorological Centre director Bikram Singh said that dry weather prevailed in plains with ground frost at isolated places in mountains of Uttarakhand. The maximum temperature in the plains and mountains was reported to have dropped by few degrees in comparison to the past couple of days. Highest maximum temperature 23°C was recorded at Pantnagar while the lowest minimum temperature 0.2°C at Matela in Almora.

He said that the weather forecast for Dehradun on Tuesday is clear to partly cloudy sky. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 22 degree Celsius and 7 degree Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Tuesday. On Monday, the maximum temperature and minimum temperatures were recorded at 22.6 degree Celsius, one degree above the normal, and 8.5 degree Celsius, one degree above the normal, respectively in Dehradun. In Pantnagar, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 23 degree Celsius and 4 degree Celsius, three degrees below the normal, respectively. In Mukteshwar, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 16 degree Celsius, three degrees above normal and 6.5 degree Celsius, five degrees above the normal respectively. In Tehri, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 15.4 degree Celsius and 7.2 degree Celsius respectively, he added.
