MONCLOVA — Monclova Christian jumped out to a 26-9 first quarter lead over Heritage Christian and never looked back en route to a 67-38 nonleague boys basketball win on Monday.
Matt Meyer’s game-highs of 18 points and 11 rebounds led Monclova Christian (14-3). Caleb Kynard added 17 points and Luke Metzger had 16 points, eight assists and four steals. The Thunder made 29 2-point field goals, went 9 of 15 from the free-throw line and missed both of its 3-point attempts.
Marcus Larsen had 12 points and eight rebounds to lead Heritage Christian (5-10). Matthew Bame added 10 points and five assists.
