It is said that a relationship between mother-in-law and her daughter-in-law is sweet and salty. But, what if the so called ‘saasu-maa’ comes alive from dead just to get her wish fulfilled?  The comedy play Tigdam Tigdam Dha was all about the ‘comedy of errors’.

Directed by Vivek Savrikar, the play was staged at Shaheed Bhavan auditorium here on Monday. Performed by the artists of   Rangmohini Society, the play marked the grand opening of comedy theatre fest 12th Bhopal Rang Mahotsav.

Play’s protagonist Kanchan Lata Kadam is a housewife and lives with her husband Mr Kadam and daughter Mona. Kanchan’s mother-in-law is no more, but she is still in contact with her daughter-in-law. Kanchan sees her everywhere around. In her house or wherever she goes. Sometimes her mother-in-law comes out of the photograph and talk to her.

Her last wish was just that her granddaughter Mona should get married in a house where her mother-in-law can teach her etiquettes of being a perfect bahu. But, the problem arises when Mona falls in love with a boy Sanket whose mother is dead. Besides, he does not event have relations like aunt or grandmother i.e. it was a family without a woman.

Now Sanket can feel the danger as Kanchan had already promised her mother-in-law about her wish. The twist comes in the story when, Sanket’s friends decides to help out the couple by disguising one of their friend’s as Sanket’s mother.

On the other hand, Sanket’s father asks one of his colleague Miss Lele to act as Sanket’s mother for an hour in front of Mona’s parents. The comedy ensues when Sanket becomes a son of two mothers in the scene.
