It's entirely appropriate that Justin Timberlake would get shown up by a Prince cameo at his own halftime show. Prince still remains the greatest halftime performer in the history of the event. And to show respect, Timberlake allowed the late music legend to have his moment during the Super Bowl LII Halftime Show.
And while some might think it was disrespectful, it was worth it to see JT make a subtle joke about the infamous Wardrobe Malfunction during his performance. As he performed "Rock Your Body," and paused right as the pivotal line:
No disrespect, I don’t mean no harm
(Talk to me, boy) I can’t wait to have you in my arms
(Talk to me, boy) Hurry up ‘cause you’re takin’ too long...
Then he looked at the audience, he winked, and skipped the next line "Bet I'll have you naked by the end of this song."
But, surprisingly, there was no N'Sync reunion, there was no special guest. It was just Justin Timberlake dancing, wearing an extremely not-Red State camo outfit, and having fun with a few hundred dancers. At least his Man of the Woods persona seems like an extremely NFL thing.
