FRISCO, Texas – For the second time in less than a month, senior guard Roddy Peters was named the player of the week by College Sports Madness and the Southland Conference in releases sent out by the organizations Monday afternoon. The SLC players of the week are presented by UniversalCoin.com.
Peters, a Washington D.C. native, finished with a game-high 27 points, six assists and three steals as the Colonels knocked off UNO 81-64 Saturday at Lakefront Arena to regain the league’s top spot. This marks his third straight game with 20-plus points, achieving the feat in seven of the last eight games.
The former five-star recruit ranks second in the conference with 19.2 points per game behind Central Arkansas’ Jordan Howard (25.2 points per game). Peters has tallied double figures in 21 of 23 games this season.
