National writers pick Saints to win Super Bowl LIII

Super Bowl LIII and 2019 are all about the New Orleans Saints, according to two national writers.

Fresh off the Philadelphia Eagles' dramatic Super Bowl LII win against the New England Patriots, Sporting News' Vinnie Iyer predicts the Saints will be the final team standing in 2019.

"Separated from possibly playing in this year's game by a Minneapolis Miracle, the Saints will withstand supernatural interventions, as well as the Rams, and walk away with the second Lombardi Trophy in franchise history and of the storied Payton-Brees collaboration," Iyer writes.

A combination of the Saints' youth (running back Alvin Kamara and defensive back Marshon Lattimore were named Rookies of the Year this past weekend) and experience (quarterback Drew Brees and coach Sean Payton) will likely make the team a trendy pick in the offseason.

Iyer predicts the Saints will face the Jacksonville Jaguars in Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

ESPN's Dan Graziano also predicts a Saints win the Super Bowl. He projects New Orleans will defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers.
