Noida to launch campaign against encroachers from February 6

NOIDA: From February 6, any encroachment on Noida's notified land will invite hefty fines ranging from Rs 2,500 to Rs 50,000 by the Noida Authority. The Authority has increased fines by 3 to 4 times from what was being charged till now for violating public places.

Under the scanner will be food vans, gen sets, vendor carts, water dispenser trolleys, makeshift food counters, etc. Even a 4-wheeler or 2-wheeler parked in public places or non-designated spaces will be seized and owners fined Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,000, respectively. Second time encroachment by the vehicles will invite fines of Rs 8,000 and Rs 4,000.


Anyone aiding in encroachment of public land will be fined Rs 50,000 by the Noida Authority. The encroachment drive will be launched from Tuesday by respective Work Circle officers of the city across all categories of land use in residential, commercial, industrial and institutional areas. Chief Project Engineer, Sandeep Chandra will the nodal officer for the campaign, while Additional CEO (ACEO), R.K Mishra will monitor and enforce the drive on a weekly basis.
