Two men were arraigned Friday, Feb. 2, in connection with a home invasion and robbery in West Bloomfield Township that police were alerted to, as it occurred, by an in-home camera broadcasting the images to a third party.
Abrahaim Harajli, 23, of Dearborn, and Kaylin Pryor, 19, of Detroit, were arraigned in 48th District Court in Bloomfield Township. Bond was set at $1 million cash, no 10 percent. Both were charged with first-degree home invasion and two counts of armed robbery. They are lodged in the Oakland County Jail.
As the third party witnessed the Jan. 30 home invasion and robbery on the camera apparently taking place at a condominium in the area of Maple and Haggerty roads, he called police.
Officers arrived and saw one suspect running from the condo. The other fled through a back door as officers entered, said Curt Lawson, deputy chief.
A Bloomfield Hills canine officer assisted in attempting to locate the suspects but was unsuccessful.
Less than 24 hours later, West Bloomfield officers identified two suspects allegedly involved in the robbery and home invasion. One was found in Wixom and the other in Westland.
A Rolex watch and two sets of car keys stolen in the incident were recovered.
Two occupants of the condo told police that Harajli knocked on the door and said he was a maintenance man. They opened the door and Pryor allegedly forced his way in. The victims said he walked them through the condo and demanded to know the location of money and valuables. The suspect was allegedly armed with what appeared to be a gun.
One of the occupants of the condo sustained minor injuries in an apparent pistol-whipping and was treated on the scene by West Bloomfield firefighters.
Lawson said police aren’t sure whether the condo was targeted or the attack was random.
He credited the department’s dispatchers, officers and detectives for their work in identifying, locating, and arresting the two men within a 24-hour period.
Harajli and Pryor have a probable cause conference before 48th District Judge Diane D’Agostini Feb. 13.
