The Walking Dead season 8: Lauren Cohan to QUIT as Maggie Rhee? Be prepared…
THE WALKING DEAD fans have been busy preparing to say goodbye to Carl Grimes when season eight returns from its mid-season break but now it has been hinted that another major character could be bowing out.
Lauren Cohan could be set to leave the popular zombie series as Maggie Rhee as she is yet to sign on for another series.
According to Deadline, the actress’ contract needs to be renewed but negotiations have not gone too smoothly.
The site reports that Lauren sought parity with her male co-stars, Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reeds, who star as Rick Grimes and Daryl Dixon.
AMC are alleged to have offered the star a “modest salary increase” in exchange for a long-term contract, which was rejected.

Deadline went on to add that negotiations are said to be ongoing and the 36-year-old has not indicated that she would like to leave the show.
In the comic books, on which the series is based, Maggie is still very much alive and plays a major part in the upcoming narrative.
If Lauren were to leave The Walking Dead then there would no doubt be repercussions for the Alexandrians and The Hilltop community.
It comes after creator Robert Kirkman hinted that Carl Grimes (played by Chandler Riggs) will not die after all.

Speaking at a Walker Stalker Cruise Q&A panel, he warned fans that things may not play out as they expect.
“He’s not dead yet,” Robert teased. “He might not die. You never know.
“But I think if that were to happen, I think that it would have some interesting ramifications on Rick that I think would energise and really kind of set things in motion in a really interesting way to leading to the resolution of All Out War; in a way that will make for a very exciting back half to season eight.
“So I think it’s going to be really cool.”

He noted that Carl’s deaths would affect the comic books “in a way that is detrimental to the show”.
The Walking Dead mid-season premiere is set to be an extended episode and first-look images have teased Carl’s final moments.
The youngster can be seen being comforted in a makeshift camp by Michonne (played by Danai Gurira) and his father Rick.
The Walking Dead returns to AMC on Sunday 25th February in the US and will follow a day later on FOX UK.
