Eagles put away Brady, Patriots and set off wild celebration

The Eagles believed. Then they beat Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots at their own game to register their first Super Bowl title. Nick Foles threw for 373 yards and three touchdowns and Brandon Graham sacked Brady with 2:09 left, forcing a fumble to secure a 41-33 victory over the Patriots Sunday night at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Desperate family hunts for David Horn Jr., missing since Christmas

David Horn Jr. has been missing since Christmas Day, and his father and cousin spent Saturday morning searching for the 36-year-old Trainer resident in 26 acres of woods near Township Line Road, bordering Trainer, Upper Chichester and Chester.

History of Duffy’s Cut recreated through paintings

Art and history merge at Immaculata University through a six-painting art exhibit depicting events at Duffy’s Cut. Elverson artist Fred Danziger recreated the 1832 life and death of 57 Irish immigrants who came to America in June of 1932 to work for Philip Duffy on the Philadelphia and Columbia Railroad.

Final Jeopardy question stumps Chester County man on TV show

Nate Pochomis will never forget the origin of the first headquarters of Ore-Ida. That was the Final Jeopardy question he missed while his two opponents both answered correctly. Pochomis, of West Grove, was in the lead for just about the entire game, until the end. Pochomis, an airline pilot, finished with just $1,000 and third place. Ryan Fenster of Seatac, Washington, finished in first place with $25,400 and Elizabeth Connor of Brooklyn, New York, finished in second place during airing of the show on Jan. 31.

Montgomery County Commissioners hail 2040 comprehensive plan, approve One Montgomery Plaza renovation contracts

Visions for the future were at the forefront of the Feb. 1 Montgomery County Commissioners’ meeting, as a status update on the Montco 2040 comprehensive plan and bid approvals for renovations to One Montgomery Plaza were presented. Montco 2040, as its name implies, is a forward-thinking initiative adopted in 2015 to lay out a strategic plan for the county’s development heading into the next half of the century.

Villanova’s Spellman stays under control against Seton Hall’s Delgado

Omari Spellman did not have to look at the scouting report to find out his defensive assignment for Sunday’s pre-Super Bowl showdown with formerly ranked Seton Hall at the Wells Fargo Center. Villanova’s redshirt freshman forward knew he would be matched up with Angel Delgado, the leading rebounder in Big East history, and one of the NCAA’s leaders in rebounding (third) and double-doubles (tied for fourth).

PREVIEW: Norristown’s Theatre Horizon pays tribute to #WomenWhoDare with ‘The Revolutionists, ’ art exhibit

How women have been treated throughout history, particularly during the French Revolution, isn’t funny. However, “The Revolutionists,” a play set during the French Revolution, which focuses on prominent females of the time, is a comedy. The production is on stage through Feb. 25 at Theatre Horizon in Norristown.
