New marking technique to check fake goods

Scientists in Denmark claim to have created the world’s most secure marking system for combating counterfeit products, such as pirated pharmaceuticals, foods, designer merchandise and artwork.

The system cannot be hacked since the markings are random, researchers said. Companies around the world consistently suffer significant economic losses due to counterfeited goods made by pirate manufacturers. Counterfeit medications sold online may even put people’s lives at risk.

Researchers from Denmark developed a system that according to them is “the safest in the world” when it comes to clamping down on all types of pirate manufacturing.
