Cardamom futures rise 0.29% as demand picks up

prices went up by 0.29 per cent to Rs 1,159 per kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions, taking positive cues from spot market on pick up in demand. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, for delivery in February rose Rs 3.40, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 1,159 per kg in business turnover of 8 lots. Likewise, the spice for delivery in March contracts was trading higher by Rs 2.50, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 1,175 per kg in 20 lots. Traders said fresh positions created by participants after uptick in demand in the physical market against restricted supplies from producing regions led to the rise in futures.
