Rep. Adam Schiff, the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, hit back at President Trump, telling him to turn off his television and get to work.
“Mr. President, I see you’ve had a busy morning of ‘Executive Time,’” Schiff tweeted Monday, referring to Trump’s time alone in the White House residence.
Instead of attacking others with “false smears,” Schiff continued, Americans would prefer Trump to turn off his television to help pass a spending bill and protect DACA recipients.
“Or…really anything else,” he wrote.
Mr. President, I see you’ve had a busy morning of “Executive Time.” Instead of tweeting false smears, the American people would appreciate it if you turned off the TV and helped solve the funding crisis, protected Dreamers or...really anything else. https://t.co/lVqQRu2Gjl— Adam Schiff (@RepAdamSchiff) February 5, 2018
Trump bashed Schiff earlier Monday, accusing him of leaking confidential information. He also praised “Fox and Friends” for “exposing the truth.”
Little Adam Schiff, who is desperate to run for higher office, is one of the biggest liars and leakers in Washington, right up there with Comey, Warner, Brennan and Clapper! Adam leaves closed committee hearings to illegally leak confidential information. Must be stopped!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 5, 2018
Thank you to @foxandfriends for exposing the truth. Perhaps that’s why your ratings are soooo much better than your untruthful competition!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 5, 2018
The California Democrat has been at odds with Republicans after House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes released a memo alleging surveillance abuses by the FBI and Department of Justice.
