ROLLINSFORD — Once again the only contested race on the town ballot will be for the Budget Committee, however there are two contest races on the school side to be decided on March 13.

The filing period for candidates for elected offices in Rollinsford closed Friday at 5 p.m.

According to Town Clerk Kate Nesman, Denise Knowles filed for the one seat open on the Select Board and Overseers of the Poor, which comes with a three-year term.

There are three seats on the Budget Committee. Each is for a three-year term with six candidates having filed: Jodi Lavoie-Carnes, Paul Cass, Verne Crosier, Edmund Jansen, Dee Neathawk, and Jonathan Ordway.

Other positions include: Town Clerk for a term of three years, with Nesman the only candidate; Town Treasurer for one year with Verne Crosier running unopposed, and Fire Chief Mark Rutherford running unopposed.

For Supervisor of the Checklist, the lone candidate is Angela Matthews.

The Trustees of the Trust Fund, Trustees of the Library and Trustees of the Cemetery each have three seats to be voted on and each carries a three-year term.

Filing for Trustee of the Trust Funds was Salme Perry, for Trustee of the Library Emily Quirk and Tamara Niedzolkowski filed, and for Trustee of the Cemetery, only Marc Couture filed.

There is also the position of Town Moderator for two-year term; incumbent Charles Putnam is the only candidate.

The filing period for School Board candidates has also closed with two contested races for school board and treasurer.

There are two seats for School Board member, each with a 3-year term; Brent Roets, Tom Kunz and Emily Leach have filed.

Suzanne Mountain and a Judy Barry filed for School District Treasurer, a 1-year term.

Charles Putnam is the lone candidate for School District moderator, with a 1-year term; Coire Jones is the only candidate for School District Clerk, with a 1-year term.

The school budget SB2 Deliberative Session was held Saturday. All of the warrant articles will appear on the ballot unchanged. All the articles are recommended by both the Budget Committee and the School Board.

The town budget public hHearing is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 10 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Rollinsford Grade School.

Town voting by ballot is on Tuesday, March 13, where the school warrant will be voted on as well as town officers. Polls open at 7 a.m. at Town Hall.

Town Meeting is Saturday, March 17 at 9 a.m. where the town budget items will be decided.
