Fresh cracks spotted in Shimla's historic ridge

A historic ridge, known as the heart of Shimla, has developed fresh cracks. Authorities detected fresh cracks in an underground water tank, during an inspection. The ridge has been developing cracks for long, and recently during cleaning of a water tank beneath the ground, fresh cracks were noticed. Cracks on the ridge have concerned the civic authorities for long and this is not for the first time that cracks on the ridge have put administration in tizzy. The civic administration has now decided to rope in experts to study the cracks and causes behind them. The ridge ground is the only open space in Shimla and rests upon a British-era water tank.
