Ledyard woman facing larceny charge

LEDYARD – A Ledyard woman is facing charges after a police investigation into an incident at a Groton Walmart on Sunday.

According to a press release, Groton Town Police were called to the report of an incident at the 150 Gold Star Highway location at approximately 10:05 a.m. Through the course of the investigation, Groton Town Police discovered one of the parties involved in the incident had an active warrant out for her arrest from the Ledyard Police Department.

According to the report, Karen Sattler, 31, of 16 Marlene Drive, Ledyard, was wanted for a larceny that allegedly occurred on Nov. 5. Groton Town Police detained her until Ledyard officers could arrive, police said.

Ledyard officers arrived and took Sattler into custody without incident, police said. She was charged with sixth-degree larceny, police said.

She was held on $2,500 bond and appeared in New London Superior Court on Monday.
