Two artists say their recent installation of a giant, crumpled $1 bill in the heart of New York City's Wall Street was a commentary on greed and capitalism.
Iranian artists ICY and SOT say the wad of cash was put up and taken down over the weekend mainly to take pictures and that they hadn't done anything illegal. The artists, who are brothers who live in Brooklyn, tell WNBC-TV that their sculpture felt like it had good timing due to the recent passage of the Republican tax overhaul plan.
The artists say "it's not fair that the wealthy people are going to get benefit (sic) but middle class working people not."
ICY and SOT's work is in galleries in the U.S., China, Germany and other locations around the world.
