BEC McCallum has gone from Maccas runs to running marathons.

With three young children and no family nearby to help out, she began turning to the drive through for convenient and easy meals and soon gained a lot of weight.

When her clothes no longer fit her she began wearing her husband's track-pants, and it realised something had to change.

"I became the drive through queen," Mrs McCallum said.

"It became about every other day I was going through Maccas, getting a large quarter pounder meal and a coffee with three sugars.

"It got to a point where I was putting on so much weight I wouldn't even look in a mirror and I didn't want to go shopping."

She hired a coach, cut out dairy and sugar, and went from a size 20 to a size 12.

Then she put all the weight back on again.

After adjusting her mindset and working hard she has completed a half marathon, marathon, triathlon, and is now training for a half iron-man.

Mrs McCallum has also become a qualified NLP practitioner and hypnotherapist, and started a walking group to provide support for other women wanting to live a healthy lifestyle.

"I'm really passionate about helping women get out there," she said.

"It's a half hour walk where you can chat with a friend, share tips, and help women get on track and stay inspired, and understand how they're feeling.

"When you start the journey and put one foot forward, everything moves forward.

"So many people put on weight and hate the way they look or feel but they just accept that that is who they are even though they aren't happy.

"It's about getting women to love themselves for who they are, and then the weight loss just follows."

The walking group meets every Friday from 10am on the Gary Evans Walkway at Petrie Creek Park in Nambour.

Mrs McCallum also runs the Mindset for Weightloss for Women group on Facebook.
