HS Roundup 2/5: Talwanda’s Brown sets school record, knocks off Goshen


Senior guard Addie Brown netted 38 points in Talawanda’s 64-54 victory over Goshen.

Brown’s 38 points set the school record for point scored in a single game, replacing a record set at 35 in the 1971-1972 season.

Brown also tied the school record for three point shots made in a game with seven, set in the 1996-1997 season.

This is the fourth record Brown has broken on the season and first she has tied.

Kyra Koontz tacked on 12 points in the win and helped move Talawanda to 7-12 overall.

Girls Basketball

Fairmont 61, Bellbrook 47: Mali Morgan-Elliott shot for 20 points in the Fairmont victory. Bekah Vine countered with 17 in the loss.

Piqua 47, Bellefontaine 43: Lily Stewart led Piqua with 11 points in the win. Kelsey Magoteaux tacked on 10 points and seven rebounds.

Springfield 75, Catholic Central 58: Mickayla Perdue added 37 points, seven assists and seven steals to her season total in the win over Central. Abbigail Peterson led in the loss with 17.

Graham 60, Triad 54: Katelyn Nash netted 23 points in the Graham victory. Brooke Johannes added on 15.

Talawanda 64, Goshen 54: Addie Brown had 38 points, including seven 3-pointers on the night. Brown broke the Talawanda record for points scored in a single game and tied for most 3-pointers a single game.

Carlisle 53, National Trail 45: Abby Erisman paced Carlisle with 15 points. Evan Byrd countered with 15 of her own in the NT loss.

Madison 50, Oakwood 44: Kenzi Saunders tallied 18 points in the SWBL win over Oakwood. Kyndall Ketterer notched 11 in the loss.

Waynesville 84, Northridge 22: Waynesville clinched the SWBL Buckeye division title with the win. Rachel Murray led all scorers with 20 points for Waynesville. Loraine Reeder netted 16 in the loss.

Chaminade Julienne 52, Tri-Village 48: Dallas Jones shot for 12 points in the CJ victory. Maddie Downing and Lissa Siler countered with 17 each for Tri-Village.

Stivers 57, Meadowdale 18: Emily Fletcher led with the triple-double for Stivers, amassing 30 points, 15 blocks and 13 rebounds. Maya Randolph chipped in 15 points and five steals. Angel Kindred had six in the losing effort.

Northeastern 52, Urbana 31: Hayley Suchland led all scorers with 22 for Northeastern. Shelby Stoops put up 12 points and eight rebounds in the Urbana loss.

Legacy Christian 61, Middletown Christian 20: Emily Riddle and Olivia Combs combined for 24 points in the win, tallying 12 apiece.

Franklin Monroe 54, Milton Union 27: Corina Conley paced all scorers with 24 points in the win over MU. Kristen Dickison tallied 12 point and four rebounds in the losing effort.
