A Donaldsonville man has been booked with second-degree murder in connection with the death of a woman by drug overdose, authorities said today.

Travis Joseph, 37, of 128 Homerun Parkway, is in the Assumption Parish jail awaiting a bond hearing.

On Nov. 6, deputies responded to a call at a Plattenville business after a a woman was found unresponsive inside her vehicle, Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon said.

Stormy Boudreaux, 32, of 7352 Wyatt Christopher Lane, Addis, was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time later, the sheriff said in a news release.

An autopsy found that Boudreaux died of a combination overdose of heroin and fentanyl.

Sheriff’s Office investigators conducted an investigation, including forensics, and interviewed a number of people, Falcon said.

"Based on that investigation as well as other considerations, detectives believe that Joseph was the person who provided the lethal dose of heroin and fentanyl to Stormy Boudreaux," the news release says.

Detectives got an arrest warrant and apprehended Joseph on Sunday.
