‘Abang fahmi’ gang busted within an hour of robbery

KUALA LUMPUR: Quick action by the city police led to solving an armed robbery case in less than an hour when they nabbed four men from the 'Abang Fahmi' gang which was attempting to pawn their loot in Chow Kit on Jan 26.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim said at the time, policemen were patrolling the Chow Kit area when the spotted four men on two motorcycles approaching a pawnshop in a suspicious manner.
He said the police picked up the suspects aged between 18 and 29.
Upon questioning, he added, the suspects were found to be linked to the theft of a gold chain at a goldsmith's shop in Kepong, as well as a RM6,000 gold chain belonging to a man.
"Following their arrests, the police seized various items including two motorcycles, a gold chain, eight mobile phones, samurai sword and folding knife, and four helmets.
"With the arrests, the police have managed to solve 21 robbery cases in the Klang Valley," he told a press conference at the city police headquarters. — Bernama
