At least three persons were found dead in three districts-Barisal, Madaripur and Noakhali, on Saturday.
BARISAL: Police recovered a man's body from a canal at Kalashkathi Union in Bakerganj Upazila here on Saturday.
The man identified as Jamal Gazi, 40, son of Chan Gazi, of Gaduria Union in the upazila and a carpenter, had been missing since Monday last.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bakerganj Police Station (PS) Abdul Haque said the deceased went out of house on Monday morning and did not return. On Saturday noon, local people saw the body at the canal and informed police.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
The deceased was a drug addict, the OC added.
MADARIPUR: Police recovered a youth's hanging body from Rajarpar area in Alinagar Union under Kalkini Upazila here on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Prahlad Mondal, 22, son of Harhori Mondal, of the area.
The deceased's mother Promila Mondal said her husband Harhori Mondal married again without her consent recently. Following this, a family feud had been prevailing between the father and the son.
Kalkini PS OC Kripa Shindu Bala said being informed police recovered the body from the roof of the house.
Prahlad might have committed suicide over family feud, but the real cause of the death would be clear after getting the autopsy report, the OC also said.
An unnatural death case was lodged with Kalkini PS in this connection, the OC added.
NOAKHALI: Police recovered a minor's body from a pond at Gachherkhil Village under Dewty Union in Sonaimuri Upazila here on Saturday noon, two days after his missing.
The deceased was identified as Samir Hossen, 3, son of Bahar Hossen, of Amarpur Village under Chatkhil Upazila of the district.
OC (Investigation) of Sonaimuri PS Emdadul Haque said the minor went missing from his maternal grandfather's house on Thursday last. Family members searched for him in various places but could not trace him.
On Saturday at 1pm, local people found his body floating in the pond and informed police.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Noakhali General Hospital morgue for an autopsy, the OC added.
