Franchise deal propels Coach’s plans
ASHEBORO — Coach’s Neighborhood Grill, a sports-themed high-quality family casual restaurant concept, announced the addition of a new franchise slated for 2018. Currently, there are six locations throughout central and northern North Carolina, including one in Asheboro. Franchisee Jimmy Spader, a retired military veteran, is scouting locations with a Coach’s franchise architect in western North Carolina. Build-out and opening is expected in six months. Coach’s has plans to develop up to 10 new franchise locations in the year ahead as part of its aggressive growth plan.

Wilson appointed to national position
ASHEBORO — Footwise NC owner April Wilson was appointed by Medi USA to the national manager position of footcare. Wilson began work with Medi USA in November. In the position, she will educate other medical professionals on solutions to foot pain. Wilson has spent 23 years in clinical practice with specialization in lower extremity problems, specifically foot pain, including 17 years with Randolph Health where she worked with marketing, staff development, community outreach and patient care focusing on interventions for foot pain with the use of orthotics.

Gas prices continue upward trend
RALEIGH — Average retail gasoline prices in North Carolina have risen 1.4 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.49 per gallon based on a daily survey of 6,092 gas outlets in the state. This compares with the national average that has increased 1.9 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.60 per gallon, according to GasBuddy. Including the change in gas prices in North Carolina during the past week, prices are 30 cents per gallon higher than one year ago and are 13 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. The national average is 34 cents per gallon higher than one year ago.
