Man found dead in apartment complex parking lot, police looking for suspect
The Elizabethtown Police Department is investigating the first homicide of the year in the city.
Police were called to an apartment complex in the 300 block of Diecks Drive late Sunday night for a report of shots fired.
Officers found Xedric "CJ" McNeil, 20, lying on the ground in a parking lot in the area. He was pronounced dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
Police have an active warrant out for Charles Roberson Jr., 29, in connection with the homicide. Officials said the two men knew each other.
Police said these photos of the suspect were taken a few hours before the shooting occurred.
Officials said Roberson should be considered armed and dangerous.
"We were very fortunate to have input from several individuals who were able to help us identify a suspect to quickly be able to develop good charges on the suspect," Officer John Thomas said.
Anyone with information regarding Roberson's whereabouts is asked to call the Etown Police Department at 270-765-4125 or Hardin County Crimestoppers at 800-597-8123.
