Routt County's only animal-assisted therapy program, Heeling Friends, which is celebrating 20 years of service in 2018, has openings for teams with exceptional pets and partners. South Routt Medical Center seeks candidates

The South Routt Medical Center in Oak Creek is accepting nominations for candidates to fill three board of directors positions, including one two-year position and two four-year positions.

The board, which meets monthly, is tasked with offering guidance, strategic planning and oversight for the South Routt Medical Center. Should three or fewer candidates submit their nomination forms then those candidates will be automatically appointed to the board. If more than three candidates are nominated, then all candidates' names will be placed on the May 8 election ballot.

Interested candidates may pick up self-nomination forms at the South Routt Medical Center, 300 E. Main St., Oak Creek between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or download them at southrouttmedical.com/notices. Completed forms must be received no later than 5 p.m. March 2.

Students earn Montana State honor roll listing

Students from Steamboat Springs were named to the honor rolls at Montana State University in Bozeman for the fall 2017 semester.

Erik Sobeck was named to the President's Honor Roll, and Anna Burkholder, Gretchen Burkholder, Isaac Copeland, Dane Dixson, Kassidy Fischer, Jordan Floyd, Andrew Hitchcock, Ellese Lupori, Andrew Sabia, Tanner Visnick and Riley Wilkinson were named to Dean's Honor Roll.

Students with a perfect 4.0 grade point average are named to the President's Honor Roll, and student earning a grade point average of 3.5 or above earn a spot on the Dean's Honor Roll.

Roundabout projects outlined at open house

The Urban Redevelopment Authority Advisory Committee — URAAC — and the city of Steamboat Springs will host a public open house to outline and discuss the upcoming Mount Werner Circle and Ski Time Square roundabout project from 4 to 6 p.m. Feb. 12 at the Creekside meeting room at Torian Plum, 1855 Ski Time Square.

"While we're still working out details, the open house is intended to share information early in the process and touch upon a tentative schedule, potential impacts and overall benefits," said Ralph Walton, project manager of URAAC, in a news release. "This is a significant project and we want to keep information flowing and provide two-way communications for the community, especially those in the immediate vicinity."

The project group will have three stations where interested parties can learn about the project, ask questions and discuss impacts. Additional information on the project can be found at steamboatsprings.net/stsroundabout. The project looks to enhance the intersection at Mount Werner Circle and Ski Time Square Drive with a roundabout, which would be similar to the ones constructed at Apres-Ski Way and Mt. Werner Circle and in Ski Time Square.

The project could start as early as this construction season, and once underway, it's expected to run approximately 90 days, depending upon weather conditions and construction schedules.

The Routt County Veterans Affairs, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4264 and American Legion Post 44 in Steamboat would like to meet and greet local sons and daughters returning from military service. The VFW is looking for female war veterans and new members.
