Jennifer Lawrence Gives Speech of Unity at Unrig the System Summit 2018 - Watch Here!

Jennifer Lawrence flashes a smile while hitting the stage to host Unrigged Live! presented by Represent.Us during the 2018 Unrig the System Summit held at the McAlister Auditorium at Tulane University on Saturday (February 3) in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The 27-year-old actress, who is also a member of Represent.Us Board of Directors, welcomed the likes of Kerry Washington, Adam McKay and Ed Helms via video with messages of support for the movement.

In her opening remarks, Jennifer told the audience, “We believe that our democracy could use some work; because we all believe that our government, that we pay for, with our taxes, should work for us.”

“It’s time to come together. American taxpayers do not deserve to pay into a system that is rigged against them,” Jennifer continued, “F**k that!” She shared a personal story that reminded the audience “to never stop rooting for each other and… that as a united front, there is nothing we cannot conquer… even Mom at Christmas, or especially a wedding.”
