Andreas Pereira appeared in good spirits as he looks to put his injury setback behind him after hobbling off in Valencia's defeat to Barcelona last week.

The Brazilian has been ruled out for 'weeks' after feeling the effects of a high tackle from Barca defender Sergi Roberto during the sides' Copa del Rey clash on Friday night.

Roberto has wished Pereira well with his recovery , insisting he did not mean to injure him, after the Valencia winger failed to emerge for the second-half of Los Che's 1-0 defeat because of a thigh injury.

Pereira has been fortunate with injuries in the past and has avoided a lengthy stint on the treatment table since joining Valencia on loan on deadline day in August.

But this lay-off comes on the back of his first start in three games and just three months before his loan spell at the Mestalla finishes.

Clearly, the 22-year-old is staying positive and he took to Instagram to give his legion of followers an insight into how the early stages of his rehabilitation are going with two short videos.

The first showed Pereira pedalling freely on an exercise bike while the second clip captures him stretching out his left leg in a pair of fetching sandals without much strain.

It is not known yet how long Pereira will be out for, but Valencia have confirmed the nature of his injury.

"According to the tests carried out this Friday on Andreas Pereira the player shows a post-traumatic strain in the vastus intermedius, with an intramuscular bruise and a contusion in his left thigh, he will continue to be monitored in the coming weeks," a club statement read.
