Report: National Security Super Bowl Anti-Terrorism Documents Left On Plane
The Department of Homeland Security left documents marked “For Official Use Only” and a “important for national security,” in the seat pocket of commercial aircraft, according to CNN.
The documents, from the DHS’ biowatch program detailed a simulated biological warfare attack in preparation for the Superbowl.
Cnn reports the documents critiqued two anthrax simulation exercises in order to assess the DHS’s ability to respond to a potential biowarfare attack.
A DHS spokesperson told CNN the exercise was a success and was not conducted in response to any specific or credible threat.
A CNN employee found the documents with a travel schedule and a boarding pass for the government scientist in charge of the Biowatch program, but has not confirmed who left the documents on the plane.
