KAJANG: An unidentified and partially burnt body of a woman was recovered yesterday by police next to an abandoned building near the Sungei Jernih MRT station.
Police received information at about 10.30am from a member of the public who had spotted the body arriving at the place.
Kajang police chief ACP Ahmad Dzaffir Yusoff said a forensics team arrived at the scene to gather clues and found the victim had suffered about 40% burns.
He said a bottle of paint thinner and burn marks were also spotted on the 15th floor of the 19-storey abandoned building.
Ahmad Dzaffir said there appeared to be no signs of a struggle and investigators believe it is a suicide case.
He said the case is classified as sudden death pending a post mortem report by the Kajang Hospital.
It is believed that the woman could have fallen from the 15th floor after her body caught fire.
