ALAPPUZHA: A woman died on Monday at Vandanam Medical College within days after she gave birth to a baby.

The dead has been identified as Vandanam native Jini (36). Jini’s relatives alleged that medical negligence was the reason for her death.  

Jini had delivered five days ago. After she developed breathing trouble and stomach pain, the doctor gave medicine only for gas trouble, alleged her relatives. As she didn’t find any relief in pain, she was asked to take ECG. On his way to the ECG room, she fell down unconscious.  Within minutes she breathed her last. They also alleged that though the death occurred in the morning, this was disclosed to her relatives only at a very later time.
