But an unknown quantity has emerged as a surprise target for the role.

The 36-year-old may not be experienced as of yet, but he already boats an impressive CV.

Wolf has already managed Dortmund's youth side and was only recently dismissed as Stuttgart boss after previously guiding them to a Bundesliga II title.
