Will Colva be part of South Goa PDA?

| Feb 5, 2018, 13:58 IST
MARGAO: Colva gram sabha members on Sunday insisted that the Colva village panchayat inquire as to whether the coastal village was sought to be included into the South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA).

Colva sarpanch Anthony Fernandes said "The gram sabha members further sought that a special gram sabha be convened to discuss this subject as the villagers are objecting to Colva being included in the PDA".

A Colva resident, Joet Cardozo, also raised objections and questioned the panchayat about works being done in the coastal regulation zone area sans any no-objection certificate issued by the authorities. Panchayat secretary Amol Tilve said that he had pointed out that the development works was being undertaken by the zilla panchayat.
