A team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided the house of two Hawala traders in Muzaffranagar and recovered cash. Mobile phones, lap top, a register keeping record of cash transaction with different foreign Hawala traders, note counting machines and weapons from their houses.
The traders identified as Dinesh Garg and Adesh Kumar Jain. The team recovered Rs 15 lakh, a note counting machine, a pistol, mobile and lap tops from the house while Rs 32 lakh cash, a Chinese pistol and a record containing details of hawala traders from US, Japan, Thailand and Oman was recovered from Adesh’s house. The team got the name of the Hawala traders, who were accused of funding the terrorists belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit.
The team got the lead from a sympathizer of Laskar-e-Taiba outfit, Mahfooz Alam of Gopalganj district in Bihar who was arrested in New Delhi and disclosed the names of the hawala traders during his two days custody remand. Mahfooz was in contact with Laskar terrorist Sheikh Abdul Naeem and was helping Naeem in setting up laksar set up in Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir and Orissa. Mahffoz used to receive the cash in his name and through the traders whose houses were raided by the NIA team on Sunday. The team is interrogating both the traders.
