THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state chief Kummanam Rajasekharan has rapped Kerala ministers and the Speaker for spending lakhs for treatment in private hospitals, buying specs for thousands of rupees and getting that expense reimbursed from government.

He said in a statement that people of Kerala didn't have the liability to bear the expense of their extravaganza.

Kummanam said the finance minister who clamour for austerity measures spent lakhs for treatment, that too in a private hospital, which showed he had no trust in government hospitals and government doctors. Kerala had never had such pretentious ministers.

He alleged that Justice James Committee recommendation to fix limit for MLA's treatment expense was not implemented to swindle government money in the name of treatment.
