Casaysay Academy paces Milcu

MANILA, Philippines — Our Lady of Casaysay Academy outplayed Angelicum, 73-66, to continue its solid showing in the under-17 division of the Milcu Sports Basketball’s Hard To Guard at the Philippine Buddahcare Academy Gym just recently.

Jhet de Claro led the way for OLCA with 19 points followed by Earl Almazan, who contributed 15 points, five rebounds and five assists in helping their team in notching a win in this tournament presented by Got Skills and sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas and supported by BTV, Gerry’s Grill, LGR, Clyde, FMR, and Gatorade.

De Claro triggered OLCA’s 8-0 run, allowing his team to pull away from a tight 59-58 lead early in the fourth. He scored five points during that stretch, including a three-point play that gave his squad a 67-58 lead with 3:35 left.

In the 13-under division, Don Bosco blasted La Salle Greenhills, 56-23.

Don Bosco made it a double celebration as its 12-under squad nipped Passion Basketball, 56-52.
