At least three persons were killed in separate road accidents in two districts- Khulna and Madaripur, in two days.
KHULNA: Two youths were killed in an accident on Chuknagar-Satkhira road near Noapara petrol pump area under Tala Upazila here on Sunday noon.
The deceased were identified as Mirazul Islam Bappy, 40, son of late Zahan Sheikh, of Sonadanga Police Station area in the city and Ataul Haque, 40, son of Ahmed Ali Gazi, of Kalabogi Village under Dakop Upazila in Khulna.
In-Charge of Chuknagar highway police outpost Inspector B M Emdadul Haque said the accident occurred about 1:10pm when a Khulna-bound passenger bus collided with a motorcycle, leaving two riders dead on the spot.
MADARIPUR: A van driver was killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Barisal highway at Shimultola area under Rajoir Upazila here on Saturday.
He was identified as Babul Sardar, 40, son of Boji Sardar, of Paschim Sarmongol Village in the upazila.
Police and eyewitnesses said a Barisal-bound speedy truck knocked the van at the said area at 9am, leaving the van driver killed on the spot.
Officer-in-Charge of Rajoir Police Station Md Ziaul Morshed confirmed the news.
