ELLENTON — A woman suffering from possible assault injuries was transported to the hospital Saturday morning, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports. A second person possibly linked to it was found dead of an apparent suicide.
Taken to the hospital was Marla Lindsay, 63.
According to reports, the injured Lindsay was discovered by a family member and deputies responded to the call from the 1000 block of 41st Avenue East in the Tidevue Estates mobile home park around 8:50 a.m. Saturday. Lindsay was taken to the hospital with injuries to her upper body.
During the investigation of the incident, Lindsay's roommate was found several blocks away, dead from an apparent suicide. Deputies believe the roommate may have been involved in an assault on Lindsay.
The incident remains under investigation.
