THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has said that CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury’s statement that party leaders and their family must not make use of their position to mince money is a direct warning to the CPM state leaders.

He added that Sitaram Yechury having to say this under the circumstance of the financial fraud allegations raised against CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s son Binoy Kodiyeri is an indicator to the depth to which the party has degenerated.

“It’s surprising that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is taking no action and keeping mum even after the party general secretary openly talked about the issue. This only means that he is an accomplice to the different frauds taking place in the name of the party,” he said.

Chennithala also noted that he had earlier submitted a letter with the CM seeking a probe in connection with the allegations raised against Binoy Kodiyeri, and added that the statement by Yechury stress on the relevance of such a probe.
