ORRVILLE — Joyce E. Smith, 82, of Orrville went to be with the Lord on Feb. 3, 2018, at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville.
She was born on July 22, 1935, in Alliance, the daughter of George and Eileen Gross. She was formerly employed as a press operator at Marlboro Manufacturing in Marlboro. She had also worked as a waitress and nurses’ aide.
Joyce had been active in the TOPS weight loss program in previous years. She enjoyed walking, collecting dolls, stuffed bears and figurines. She loved her family and never met a stranger.
She is survived by a daughter, Debra (Rick) Smith of South Elgin, Ill.; son, David (Sheila) Smith of Alliance; grandchildren, Dr. Rick Smith, Dr. Kyle (Lisan) Smith, Cameron (Brittany) Smith and Chase Smith; great-grandchild, Zachariah Smith; sister, Norma Smith of Minerva; niece, Robin (Jack) Hilson; nephew, Ron Smith; and her friend of 40 years, Scott Smith.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life service at the Stepfield Center at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville, on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at 1 p.m.
There will be no calling hours, and cremation will take place. Burial of cremains will be in the Alliance City Cemetery.
