22 BNP men, including Kanchan mayor, arrested

Narayanganj police arrested at least 22 leaders and activists of BNP, including a municipality mayor in connection with two cases filed over attacking law enforcers on Friday night.

 

Police filed the cases with Sonargaon and Siddhirganj Police Stations accusing at least 250 people, reports UNB.

 

In separate drives on early Sunday, police arrested 22 people including Kanchan municipality mayor, Abul Basar Badsha, of Rupganj and 10 other BNP leaders of Sonargaon, and Nasik unit president Bablu Prodhan.

 

Police said on Friday night the BNP men attacked police and vandalised their patrolling car at Tipurdi area of Dhaka-Chittagong Highway and Dhandir bazaar area of Noagaon union.
