Tinfoil hat, anyone?

It is curious that The Hawk Eye's attempt to explore the question "Are renewables really the best way to achieve energy Independence?" (Jan. 27) was preceded earlier by what appeared to be a one-sided "hit piece" on wind energy. (Just several weeks before Siemens laid off several hundred employees.)

It is perhaps more curious that neither the pro or con arguments from the 27th, nor the wind energy piece, mentioned global climate change as the primary driver in the world's race for renewables. Currently it seems the energy independence arguments are no longer considered primary, and generally have been superseded by the immediacy of dealing with climate change.

The only groups in the world not taking climate change seriously are "flat-earthers," those eagerly waiting for Armageddon so as to fulfill biblical prophecy, and the Republican party.

This brings us to the newspaper. In the interest of full disclosure, does this newspaper take climate change as seriously as the rest of the world or do you wear tinfoil?
