JAMMU: Bus Stand Police on Sunday arrested a bootlegger and recovered 144 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession. According to report, Bus Stand Police on specific information signaled one person to stop for checking. On seeing the Police, he tried to escape from spot but the alert police chased him and intercepted. On search of his belongings, Police Party recovered 144 Pouches of illicit liquor from his possession which he was carrying to earn illegitimate profit. In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 10/2018 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Bus Stand and further investigation of case is going on. The aforesaid arrest and recovery was the part of operation AMRIT launched by Jammu Police against the illicit transportation/sale of the liquor in District Jammu.
The arrest and recovery was made by Inspector Rajesh Jasrotia SHO Bus Stand under the close supervision of SDPO City North, Jammu Varun Jandial and SP City North Dr. Vinod Kumar.
