Cancer patient self-immolates

A woman in Aralaganwila has committed suicide by self-immolation.

The incident had occurred at around 5.15 pm yesterday (Feb. 03).

The deceased was identified as a 72-year-old mother who was suffering from cancer for some time.

It has been revealed that she had killed herself because of her illness and sources say that she had made attempts to commit suicide several times before as well.

Dehiattakandiya Police conduct further investigations into the incident.
